I live in UK with Shadow, my 9yrs old female Rottweiler, and I've been working online, full-time from home over 8yrs, since July 2001. As a raw newbie I created NervousNewbies.com in January 2002.
After coming online 6 months earlier I had felt an obvious need for a simple, straightforward guide. There was also room in the "make money from home on the Internet" niche for another helper to internet novices.
I chose to learn and then provide good information as guidance. And so, February 2002 saw the birth of my newsletter, later titled "The 5Ns".
It was plain to see how Newcomers can easily get lured into any number of "get rich by tomorrow" schemes and scams. True back then, and remains true today.
Now, with an ever-increasing number of "newbies" coming online in search of "easy money" and "instant wealth", there was still room for a guide. As for the need... that's still there as well... only moreso!
To give you a feeling of ease and security we have created such a guide. And we created it without over-inflated claims of earnings... without imagined profits that you might make... and without conning you that you will be filthy rich by next Tuesday!
We felt that being honest was much more realistic and comforting to those who have been trying to make money, but getting nowhere.
Our aim is to unstick those who are stuck, and catch those who land here "fresh" on the Internet, with little or no experience, and then prepare them for what they might find.
Many arrive with only a vague notion of the online home income concept. Preparing you for the options open to you is the goal, and what needs to be done to make money from the business you might choose.
This entire site, together with The '5Ns' Newsletter, is to prepare you for what you might find, and advise you on what we have found to be reliable sources of information and products.
It's a steep learning curve for a "raw newbie". Over 8 years a lot has been learned, and it's an ongoing process. With the rate of change in technology and business techniques it's likely to remain an ongoing process when you realise there's work involved.
Eager to make a quick start in making money, we rushed into lots of things and made mistakes. Too many things... and lots of mistakes!
You get to benefit from all our mistakes, and... through our losses... you gain the 20:20 vision that only comes with hindsight.

It is possible to get a very nice income from the 'Net and perfectly reasonable you should expect to have it, providing you're also prepared to do the work to get it. You just have to be selective and not rush into "the next great thing" that comes along.

In the "Real" world I built a professional health related business from scratch in under 3 years, where the industry average is 5-6 years.
And I did it in a manner that was so basic and simple, that it will pop your navel when you read about it!
The best and fastest way to build any business is by forging relationships with your contacts, subscribers and clients. This proved successful in offline profession where many clients became friends.
Providing quality service and affordable products, delivered with honesty and integrity, is the only way to go.
New patients and clients in my private practice were all told "If ever you are unhappy with any service or product I provide, please tell me and not your neighbour. I need to know."
The same thing applies here. There was no direct, or indirect, valid negative feedback in 9 years of personal care, and those principles apply to my online business. We strive for a similar good clean sheet here.

The Priority of this site is stated at the top of this letter. And that is to unstick the stuck, and try to catch "newbies" before they get stuck, and... in the process... to get you making some money!
